02 Apr Ball Corporation Donates $10,000 to Sponsor Brewnited’s “Nominate Your Covid Hero” Program

The Nominate Your Covid Hero program begins 3/24/2021.

We are Brewnited, a registered 501(c)3, announced the latest collaboration fundraiser for local hospitality workers. This effort comes after two successful Brewnited campaigns and is the result of donations from many individuals, Ball Corporation, Death Wish Coffee Company and a series of events at local bars restaurants and beverage centers. More than $50,000 has been distributed directly to local hospitality workers in the Capital Region since Brewnited was founded in Spring 2020.

Brewnited now introduces a new chapter called “Nominate Your Covid Hero.” It works like this: Simply fill out a form nominating a deserving local resident on wearebrewnited.com, and Brewnited will send your Covid Hero a gift card to the independent Capital Region bar or restaurant of your choice. Nominations are valid for healthcare workers, first responders, and service industry employees in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, and Washington Counties.

“We all know someone who has done something nice or special to make things a bit easier for someone else during the pandemic, Nominate Your Covid Hero is a great way to say thanks to that person while supporting your favorite independent hospitality establishment.” says Brewnited spokesperson, and Northway’s Director of Operations, Max Oswald.

The new initiative was announced at a check presentation at Northway Brewing, at which Ball Corporation presented We Are Brewnited with its second contribution of $10,000 to date.

“Across Ball Corporation, we are united in our commitment to supporting our communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Andrea Miele, Ball Saratoga’s human resources manager. “As part of Ball Corporation’s $5 million in global donations to support community organizations during the pandemic, each Ball location was given funds and local employees decided how to make the greatest impact in local communities  Ball Saratoga decided to partner with We Are Brewnited to support hospitality workers and local restaurants and to recognize local heroes. We feel that this donation could really have a positive impact on the community by supporting local businesses most impacted by the economic disruption.”
